GMP Manufacturing Limited is an established company, located in Kingston upon Hull, holding a Manufacturing License and Medical Devices Certification supplying a range of medicinal products and medical devices across a number of categories.
We currently have an exciting full-time opportunity based at our Hull site for a Management Accountant. This role is critical in supporting financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and business performance analysis across the organisation. Reporting to the Finance Head, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate financial information, supporting operational decision-making, and driving continuous financial improvement.
We are seeking a proactive, commercially aware individual with a strong analytical mindset and a “can-do attitude” to support the finance function and contribute to operational and strategic success.
Job Summary
The Management Accountant will be responsible for preparing and analysing financial information, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and ensuring accurate reporting to support business objectives and decision-making.
The role requires strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments while maintaining compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, financial reports, and variance analysis within agreed deadlines
- Preparation of weekly cash flow; liaising with other departments to correctly forecast the incoming and outgoing and schedule the payments accordingly.
- Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial planning activities across departments
- Analyse financial performance, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights and recommendations to management
- Monitor operational costs, overheads, and expenditure to support profitability and business performance
- Work under the direction of the Finance Head, providing updates on financial performance, risks, and opportunities
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company procedures
- Collaborate with Production, Operations, HR, and other departments to provide financial guidance and support business objectives
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and supporting information
- Contribute to process improvements, reporting efficiencies, and financial control enhancements
- Maintain accurate financial records and support the wider finance team with ad-hoc tasks and reporting requirements
Essential Skills
- Previous experience working in a Management Accountant or similar finance role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel and financial systems knowledge
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Desirable
- ACCA / CIMA / ACA part-qualified or qualified
- Experience within manufacturing, pharmaceutical, medical device, or GMP-regulated environments
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems
- Understanding of budgeting and forecasting processes
- Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies
