At Bede's, we pride ourselves on maintaining world-class grounds and sporting facilities for our pupils. To ensure our outdoor operations remain seamless during a critical operational window, we are seeking a skilled and reliable Grounds Mechanic to join our Estates team on a temporary cover basis.
Maintenance & Repair: Service and repair a diverse fleet, including tractors, commercial ride-on mowers, and arboricultural power tools.
Diagnostics: Promptly troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
Compliance: Maintain accurate, audit-ready service logs and safety records (PUWER/COSHH).
Safety & Support: Keep a clean, safe workshop and guide grounds staff on daily pre-use machinery checks.
Proven experience as a mechanic working with agricultural, turf care, or commercial grounds machinery.
Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Ability to hit the ground running independently with minimal handover.
Immediate or short-notice availability for the duration of the contract.
This is a Full Time, temporary position, working 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday from 7.00am - 4.00pm with an unpaid 1 hour break per day.
