A recent addition to the Northern Quarter food scene opened in May at Deano's Italian/American restaurant serving up pizza, pasta & parms and we are looking to grow our Kitchen team.
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff with food preparation and service, ensuring that all meals are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about food and eager to learn more about the culinary arts in a dynamic kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
- Help with the setup and breakdown of catering events as needed, ensuring all equipment is cleaned and stored properly.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment, such as catering or restaurant settings, is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and an understanding of food safety principles.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with kitchen staff and other team members.
- A passion for culinary arts and a desire to develop skills in meal preparation and cooking techniques.
