About the Role
As a Trainee Registered Children's Home Manager, you will work closely with senior leaders to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence required to become a successful Registered Manager.
You will play a key role in the day-to-day leadership of the home, supporting the delivery of high-quality care while developing your understanding of regulatory compliance, safeguarding, leadership and operational management.
You will support and inspire a dedicated team providing care to children and young people with Learning Disabilities, ensuring every child receives individualised support that promotes independence, communication, emotional wellbeing and positive life experiences.
You will contribute to creating a safe, structured and nurturing environment where children and young people are encouraged to develop essential life skills, build confidence and achieve their personal goals.
Working alongside families, education providers, healthcare professionals and external agencies, you will help ensure children receive consistent, holistic and person-centred support.
With the guidance of our experienced leadership team, you will develop the knowledge and confidence to lead a children's home, prepare for Ofsted inspections and successfully achieve Registered Manager status.

Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards if not already achieved)
- NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence
- Minimum three years' experience within a children's residential care setting
- Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Team Leader or Senior Residential Support Worker with supervisory responsibilities
- Experience supporting children and young people with Learning Disabilities and additional needs
- Good knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding practices
- An understanding of Ofsted requirements and inspections
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- A child-centred and person-centred approach to care and support
- Understanding of positive behaviour support and promoting independence
- The ambition and commitment to progress into a Registered Manager position
