Metal Detector Operative
Hours: 6:00am – 2:00pm
Pay: £12.71 per hour
The Opportunity
Our client is looking for a reliable and conscientious Metal Detector Operative to join their production team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in maintaining high quality and food safety standards.
As a Metal Detector Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring finished products meet quality requirements before dispatch while preparing goods safely and accurately for shipment.
Key Responsibilities

Operate the metal detector line in line with company procedures.

Monitor products passing through the metal detector and respond appropriately to any rejected items.

Carry out quality checks on finished products and packaging before dispatch.

Inspect packaging to ensure it is correctly labelled, securely sealed and free from damage.

Pack approved finished products onto pallets ready for storage or dispatch.

Ensure pallets are stacked safely and securely.

Accurately complete production and quality documentation.

Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.

Follow all Health & Safety, Food Safety and Quality procedures.

Report any equipment faults, damaged packaging or quality concerns to the Team Leader.
Skills & Experience
Essential

Excellent attention to detail.

Ability to follow procedures and work instructions accurately.

Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Good basic literacy and numeracy skills.
Desirable

Previous experience in a manufacturing, production or warehouse environment.

Experience operating production machinery or metal detection equipment.

Understanding of quality control procedures.
Physical Requirements

Comfortable standing for extended periods.

Able to carry out regular manual handling duties.

Capable of safely lifting items weighing up to 8kg.

Able to pack and move pallets safely in accordance with manual handling procedures.
