Purpose of the Job
To develop, manage and grow sales within a designated territory by maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing customers, identifying and securing new business opportunities, and promoting the Company's products and services. The role is responsible for delivering sales growth, achieving agreed targets, and providing excellent customer service through a proactive and consultative approach.
Main responsibilities
- Manage and maintain regular contact with existing customers, building strong and lasting business relationships.
- Develop a thorough understanding of customers' operations and requirements to provide high levels of service and support.
- Re-engage and develop business from lapsed customers.
- Identify and pursue opportunities with new customers and within new markets.
- Increase revenue through effective upselling and cross-selling of products and services.
- Prepare and distribute quotations, product samples and marketing literature.
- Respond to customer tenders and confirm stock availability and pricing with the Commercial Manager where required.
- Achieve agreed monthly and annual sales targets and objectives.
- Conduct customer visits to increase awareness of Killgerm and PestWest products, including demonstrating new products and innovations.
- Support customers with product and application queries, obtaining technical advice where appropriate.
- Deliver a professional, responsive and customer-focused service at all times.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, particularly the Outbound Customer Services Team, to maximise opportunities within the territory.
- Regularly liaise with the Head of Sales & Customer Services regarding performance, opportunities and market developments.
- Present and report on opportunities, threats and developments within the territory at quarterly sales meetings.
- Maintain accurate customer records and complete daily call reports using the ASM Portal.
- Ensure all sales activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, procedures and sales programmes.
- Attend and support the organisation and delivery of customer workshops, breakfast meetings and other promotional events.
- Attend national and regional meetings, exhibitions and events as required.
- Participate in internal and external training programmes to maintain and develop product, industry and sales knowledge.
Qualifications, Skills required
- RSPH Level 2 Pest Control Qualification (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years' practical experience within the UK pest management industry.
- Full UK driving licence (with no more than 6 penalty points).
- Strong sales and business development skills with the ability to close sales opportunities.
- Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
- Strong IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a territory effectively.
- Proactive and commercially aware approach to achieving sales targets.
