About the Role
The post holder is responsible for undertaking a wide range of manufacturing processes operating to high standards of quality whilst promoting and supporting continuous improvement within the Machine Shop.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Independently set up and operate 3-axis CNC milling machines and multi-turret CNC lathes.
- Install tooling, fixtures and workpieces and maintain CNC programs.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and production documentation.
- Inspect completed parts against engineering drawings and specifications.
- Meet target cycle times and production schedules.
- Complete daily pre-start checks and operate all machinery in accordance with health and safety requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for someone who has the following qualifications and experience:
- GCSE English and Maths
- Able to read, understand and fully interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience in multi axis CNC machine tools milling and turning in a cellular environment.
- Experience of modern manufacturing techniques.
- Recognised served engineering apprenticeship, City and Guilds or equivalent.
- Manual handling - lift products up to a maximum 25kg unaided
- Good Communication
- Ability to understand CNC Programme code and Operation
- Previous experience using Haas machines and Fanuc controls
