This is a hands-on laboratory-based role where accuracy, attention to detail and a proactive approach are essential. You'll be responsible for testing production samples, maintaining laboratory records, preparing testing chemicals and ensuring testing equipment remains calibrated and compliant with ISO and company standards. You'll also investigate product issues, support customer complaint analysis and contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance manufacturing performance.
Working within a collaborative team environment, you'll have the opportunity to support training of manufacturing colleagues, provide technical guidance when required and deputise for the QC Team Leader or Technical & QC Manager during periods of absence. - Perform in-process and final product testing accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, calibration schedules, testing records and ISO documentation.
- Support investigations into product quality issues, customer complaints and returned goods.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements that increase product quality and reduce manufacturing downtime.
- Provide technical support and training to manufacturing teams and assist the wider Quality team as required.
- GCSE (or equivalent) qualification in a Science subject with previous laboratory or testing experience.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately record and interpret technical information.
- Knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety procedures and safe laboratory practices.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and working within computerised systems.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work on a 3-shift pattern.
