About the Role
Bristol is a thriving commercial and transport hub with excellent international connectivity, making it an ideal location for travel and tourism businesses. At Eagle Land Holidays and Travel Services, we specialise in leisure holidays, escorted tours, customised travel packages and destination management services for individual, corporate and group travellers.
We are looking for a Commercial Travel Manager who can take ownership of commercial strategy, travel partnerships and revenue growth across our travel portfolio. You will work closely with destination partners, airlines, hotels, tour operators, marketing teams and sales departments to strengthen supplier relationships and deliver commercially successful travel products.
This role is suited to an experienced travel professional who can combine commercial leadership with market insight and customer focus. You will oversee contract negotiations, product profitability, pricing strategies and business development while ensuring exceptional service standards and sustainable commercial performance. Commercial travel managers commonly lead travel policy, supplier negotiations, contract management, budget oversight and commercial growth initiatives across travel programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Strategy: Develop and implement commercial plans that support revenue growth, profitability and long term business objectives.
- Travel Product Management: Review and optimise holiday packages, travel services and destination offerings based on market demand and commercial performance.
- Supplier Partnerships: Build and maintain strong relationships with airlines, hotels, destination management companies, transport providers and tourism partners.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for commercial agreements, pricing, service levels and preferred supplier arrangements.
- Revenue Management: Monitor sales performance, margins and pricing strategies to maximise commercial returns.
- Business Development: Identify new markets, customer segments and partnership opportunities to expand the company's travel portfolio.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage commercial budgets while monitoring operational expenditure and financial performance.
- Market Analysis: Evaluate travel trends, competitor activity and customer behaviour to support strategic decision making.
- Customer Experience: Work closely with customer service teams to ensure a consistently high quality travel experience.
- Operational Collaboration: Coordinate with reservations, marketing, finance and operations teams to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Performance Reporting: Prepare regular reports covering commercial performance, sales trends, supplier performance and growth opportunities.
- Risk Management: Identify commercial risks and develop practical strategies that protect business performance and customer satisfaction.
- Team Leadership: Lead, coach and support commercial employees while promoting collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: At least 6 years of experience in commercial management, travel operations, tourism, hospitality or business development, including management responsibility.
- Education: Bachelor degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Business Management, Marketing or a related discipline.
- Commercial Knowledge: Strong understanding of travel products, supplier negotiations, pricing strategies, contract management and revenue optimisation.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver commercial objectives.
- Travel Industry Knowledge: Experience working with tour operators, destination partners, travel suppliers or corporate travel programmes.
- Financial Awareness: Ability to manage budgets, analyse financial performance and improve profitability.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong experience negotiating supplier agreements and commercial contracts.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to evaluate sales data, market trends and customer demand to support business decisions.
- Communication: Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Technology Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, customer relationship management systems, reservation platforms and business reporting tools.
- Organisation: Ability to manage multiple commercial initiatives, deadlines and stakeholder priorities in a fast paced environment.
- Professional Approach: Strong commercial judgement, integrity and commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
Pay: £50,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
