J Mould Reading is looking for an experienced and dedicated HGV Technician to join our professional workshop team that is now under new management. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled technician who takes pride in delivering first-class workmanship and keeping commercial vehicles operating safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a wide range of HGVs.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and ensure compliance with DVSA standards.
- Perform preventative maintenance to minimise vehicle downtime.
- Complete all job cards and maintenance records accurately.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
- Work efficiently both independently and as part of a professional workshop team.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' proven experience as an HGV Technician.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) is preferred.
- Full UK driving licence (HGV licence is advantageous but not essential).
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Positive attitude with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Competitive salary of £50,000 – £60,000 per annum (£20-£24 per hour) depending on experience.
