Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to support our existing chef. The ideal candidate will have a background in food preparation and a keen understanding of food safety practices. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering delicious meals that meet our high standards of quality and presentation. This position requires a commitment to excellence in the kitchen and the ability to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menus.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
- Assist in the planning of menus, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
- Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management to ensure availability of necessary supplies.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal service during busy periods.
- Help train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and food safety protocols.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Proficiency in meal preparation techniques, including cooking methods, seasoning, and presentation.
- Experience working in a restaurant or culinary environment is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently.
- A team player who can communicate effectively with colleagues in the kitchen environment.
