Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Herdsperson to oversee and maintain the health and wellbeing of livestock on our farm. The successful candidate will play a vital role in animal care, farm maintenance, and operational tasks, ensuring a safe and productive environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic agricultural setting, combining practical skills with animal husbandry expertise. The Herdsperson will be responsible for supporting daily farm activities, maintaining equipment, grazing management on an organic farm.
The farm-
1200 acres organic, dairy, arable and finishing beef .
All operations carried out in house.
Other staff feed and bed down livestock in winter routine.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for livestock, including allocating grazings, milking 2x and data input.
- Assist with vet visits.
- Maintain parlour to a high standard of cleanliness.
- Carry out general farm maintenance tasks including equipment repair and upkeep of farm infrastructure
- Ensure safety procedures are followed during all operational
- activitiesQualifications
- Previous experience in animal care or agricultural work is advantageous but not essential; training is given.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and task management
- Physical fitness to handle demanding tasks in an outdoor environment
- A proactive attitude towards animal welfare and farm safety standards

DOE depending on experience, we offer a 5 day operating week of 45 hours, hours can vary during calving times.
Help to find accommodation in the local village until a farm property becomes available Later on. Because of this, role will NOT suit a herdsperson with a large family.
Rent, CT paid for by the farmer.
Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
