Overview
A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic gardener to join the Somerleyton Estate Garden Services team . In this role, you will be working alongside other garden staff responsible for maintaining the Estate's residential property gardens and other areas of the Estate as required.
Responsibilities
- Tasks for this role include but are not limited to weeding, deadheading, care of herbaceous plants, shrubs, small trees and subsequent maintenance, pruning, hedge cutting and grass cutting and to effectively prune, plant, weed, and maintain garden beds.
Requirements
- Proven employed experience in garden maintenance with relevant horticultural qualifications being beneficial
- Good organisational skills
- A knowledge of plants combined with good all-round practical skills in gardening
- Applicants must be physically fit with previous experience and competency in the use of all garden machinary.
- Adherence to current health and safety regulations
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions while maintaining safety standards
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions precisely
- Candidates need to be happy working as a team with a sense of humour as well as being able to work independently
- Employees should always reflect the positive and professional nature of the Somerleyton Estate
- Polite manner as you will also be communicating with tenants
- A full clean driving licence essential as you will be driving a works vehicle on the estate.
- Chainsaw certificate desirable but not essential
- PA1 and PA6 desirable but not essential
Pay: From £13.50 per hour
