Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Conveyancing & Private Client Solicitor to join our reputable legal practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload specialising in property transactions and private client matters and supervising other staff members within the department. The ideal applicant will possess strong communication skills, organisational abilities, and proficiency in IT systems relevant to legal practice.
The position is office based in Grimsby. The hours are 8.30am to 5pm (with one hour for lunch) Monday to Friday. Additionally, the successful candidate would be expected to devote such other time to suit the needs of the business. Start date is negotiable.
Key Responsibilities
- Assume the role as Head of Conveyancing for the purpose of the CQS scheme.
- Managing all aspects of conveyancing transactions, including sales, purchases, re-mortgages, and transfers of equity
- Advising clients on private client matters such as wills, probate, trusts and estate planning
- Mentor and supervise junior legal staff to achieve targets.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements throughout all transactions
- Contribute to business planning and procedural development.
- Maintaining up-to-date case files and documentation in accordance with firm policies
- Drive commercially effective, client‑focused service delivery.
Qualifications/Skillset
- Qualified Solicitor (at least 3 year PQE) with relevant practising certificate recognised in England and Wales.
- Proven experience in conveyancing (residential and commercial) and private client work.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Proficiency in IT systems used in legal practice such as case management software and document management tools
- Effective time management skills to ensure deadlines are consistently met
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team with a professional attitude towards client service
- Oversee quality assurance across all conveyancing transactions, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain the firm’s CQS accreditation and lender panel memberships.
- Develop and maintain any internal policies and procedures in line with SRA guidance and the Conveyancing Protocol.
Pay: £35,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
