Commercial & Domestic Gas Engineer / PlumberOverview
East Midlands Boilers & Renewables is looking for an experienced Commercial & Domestic Gas Engineer / Plumber to join our growing team.
This is a varied role suited to an experienced, confident engineer who is comfortable working independently across both commercial and domestic environments.
Our work ranges from domestic boiler servicing, breakdowns and installations through to commercial heating systems, plant rooms, planned maintenance and reactive repairs across schools, care facilities, offices, churches and other commercial premises throughout the East Midlands.
We are looking for someone with strong technical knowledge, excellent fault-finding ability and a solid plumbing background who can confidently take a job from diagnosis through to completion.
Salary is negotiable depending on experience, qualifications and commercial capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, diagnose and repair domestic and commercial gas appliances and heating systems.
- Carry out fault finding and diagnostics on boilers, heating systems and associated controls.
- Complete domestic boiler installations, replacements and system upgrades.
- Work confidently on commercial heating systems and within plant room environments.
- Diagnose and repair plumbing and heating faults including pumps, valves, cylinders, controls, leaks and associated components.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive works across commercial sites.
- Identify remedial works and provide clear information regarding required repairs and materials.
- Complete relevant service records, job reports and compliance documentation accurately.
- Communicate professionally with domestic customers, commercial clients and site representatives.
- Work independently, managing allocated jobs efficiently from initial diagnosis through to completion.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with current Gas Safe regulations, manufacturer instructions and industry standards.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship, cleanliness and professionalism on every site.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Experienced Gas Safe Engineer with current domestic gas qualifications.
- Strong experience in domestic boiler servicing, breakdowns, fault finding and installations.
- Previous experience working with commercial gas/heating systems.
- Strong plumbing and heating knowledge.
- Confident fault-finding and diagnosing heating system issues independently.
- Experience working within commercial premises and plant room environments.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good understanding of current gas safety regulations and industry standards.
- Able to communicate confidently and professionally with customers and commercial clients.
- Reliable, organised and capable of working independently.
Desirable
Depending on the candidate's experience, additional qualifications such as the following would be advantageous:
- Commercial gas qualifications.
- Unvented hot water / G3.
- LPG.
- Commercial catering gas qualifications.
- Experience with larger commercial boiler and heating systems.
- Experience working within schools, care facilities, industrial sites or similar commercial environments.

Working Hours & Package
Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
