Warehouse Operative – Inbound & Yard Logistics

Salary: £13.31 per hour (Day Rate) | £16.64 per hour (Night Rate)

- Day Shift: 10:00 AM start
- Night Shift: 10:00 PM start (Night rate applies 22:00 – 04:00)
- Shift patterns include weekend working.
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for reliable, safety-conscious Warehouse Operatives to join our busy inbound and yard team supporting a major blue-chip operation in Swindon.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining smooth logistics operations—ensuring trailers are processed efficiently, materials are organized safely, and site standards remain exceptionally high.
Key Responsibilities
- Trailer Unloading: Safely offload incoming trailers using Electric Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
- Material Management: Sort, organise, and stack pallets, bread grates, and cardboard efficiently and safely.
- Storage & Staging: Move sorted items to designated storage areas using MHE, ensuring clear and safe access routes at all times.
- Yard & Warehouse Safety: Maintain clean working areas and strictly follow health, safety, and manual handling guidelines.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous warehouse, yard, or logistics experience is preferred, though full training will be provided.
- Experience operating Electric MHE (e.g., PPT, LLOP, or Counterbalance) is a strong advantage.
- A strong work ethic with a focus on team safety and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work shift patterns that include weekends.
- Good communication skills and a reliable, punctual approach.
Pay Rates
- Day Shift Rate: £13.31 per hour (10:00 AM start)
- Night Shift Rate Premium: £16.64 per hour (22:00 PM start – night premium paid between 22:00 and 04:00)
