Based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire we are a prominent manufacturer of crash test barriers and Anthropomorphic Test Devices (ATD’s). Cellbond is a leading supplier of vehicle crash test barriers and has been established for over 35 years! We supply most of the world’s demand for vehicle crash test barriers and are also involved in the development of the future versions.
Join our cutting-edge team at the forefront of automotive safety innovation, where you'll play a vital role in developing and assembling instrumentation used in crash testing environments. You will be responsible for the meticulous assembly, precision soldering, and rigorous testing of high-performance electronic components. Your work will directly contribute to the accuracy and reliability of crash test instrumentation. This is a hands-on role requiring exceptional attention to detail and steady craftsmanship under the microscope.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Perform fine soldering of components using a microscope
· Inspect solder joints and component placement for quality assurance
· Mechanical assembly for development items (e.g. strain gauge bonding)
· Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions
· Operate hand tools and precision instruments for electronic assembly
· Conduct functional and continuity testing using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools
· Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve assembly issues and improve processes
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in soldering, wiring and assembly. You will also have the ability to read interpret engineering drawings, with knowledge or awareness of CAD (preferably Solidworks).
