We are recruiting for a Night Housing Staff member to join our Housing Team. You will be responsible for undertaking a wide variety of duties, including providing high-quality overnight support and safety monitoring to residents aged 16 and over.
You will play a key role in ensuring that residents experience a secure, safe, and comfortable living environment, while providing responsive support when required.
The role will involve responding promptly and appropriately to emergencies, addressing residents’ needs and concerns, and maintaining a calm and supportive environment. You will also be expected to uphold high standards of service delivery at all times, contributing to the overall wellbeing, safety, and positive experience of residents.
The successful candidate must hold a Housing Level 2 qualification or equivalent and have strong knowledge of housing legislation and safeguarding practices.
Key responsibilities:
- To provide trauma informed support to service users, including restorative practices to the supported individuals.
- To support a culture of collaboration, so that staff work together within the directorate and across the wider association.
- To ensure a provision of high-quality services to service users in line with the organisational ethos and objectives.
- To support and contribute to the resourcing of interventions for residents in crisis situations, and/or manage physical risk or behaviour likely to cause incidents, in accordance with the individuals personal developmental support plan, risk management plan and service protocols.
- To induct new residents into the accommodation, ensuring the terms of the licence agreement is understood and all health and safety issues fully explained.
- To comply with fire safety and evacuation procedures.
- To respond/attend to emergency situations that arise in other support YMCA East Surrey supported accommodation and have a full understanding of the on-call process.
- To cover the front reception desk of an evening and take any incoming calls and communications.
- Continuously contribute to service development and improvement.

Working Hours: 22 hours a week, Monday: 9:00 PM -8:00 AM and Tuesday: 7:00 PM- 8:00 AM (including 1 hour unpaid break)
Additional, bank staff shift available.
PAY: £14.49 per hour
