Job Title: SEN Play Facilitator - SEN Holiday Club

Contract: Casual (School Holidays)
Role Purpose
To support children and young people with Complex Special Educational Needs (SEN) to access and enjoy a range of fun, safe, and inclusive SEN holiday club activities. You will adapt play opportunities to meet developing individual needs, and help children build confidence, independence and social skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging activities such as arts & crafts, sensory play, outdoor games, and group activities
- Adapt activities to suit different abilities, communication styles, and sensory needs
- Support children to participate at their own pace, encouraging choice and independence
- Use visual supports, routines, and calming strategies to create a structured environment
- Facilitate positive social interaction through play and group activities
- Provide 1:1 or small group support, including personal care where required
- Follow individual care plans, behaviour support strategies and risk assessments
- Respond appropriately to complex emotional or sensory needs, including supporting regulation
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment at all times
Person Specification
Essential:
- Experience working with children or young people with complex SEN requirements
- Knowledge of autism, ADHD, PDA, ASD and behaviour support strategies
- Childcare, Playwork, Health & Social Care qualification
- Patient, caring, and flexible approach
- Ability to adapt activities and respond to individual needs
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Desirable:
- Relevant SEN specific / childcare qualifications
- Experience in holiday clubs, schools, or care settings
Safeguarding:
This role requires an enhanced DBS check. A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is essential.
Pay: £13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4.0 – 16.0 per week
