Workshop Controller vacancy
Our busy, marina-based business requires a Workshop Controller to manage the day-to-day operations and workflow of a marine maintenance and repair facility. The right applicant will act as the vital link between marine engineers, technicians, and customers to ensure that boats, vessels, and marine equipment are serviced safely, efficiently, and to high industry standards.
Core responsibilities typically include:
Workflow Management: Booking in vessels, allocating specific tasks based on technician expertise, and monitoring job progress to meet deadlines, using a modern, digital system.
Customer Service: Liaising with clients, providing updates on repair progress, and preparing estimates and invoices, ensuring prompt payment.
Inventory & Stock Control: Ordering necessary parts, managing suppliers, and overseeing workshop tools stock checks.
Keyboard and Microsoft Office skills will be required.
Compliance & Safety: Ensuring the workshop adheres to health and safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
Based in the Southampton area, you have direct access to a heavy marine and boating hub on the UK's southern coast (including nearby Lymington and Portsmouth), making this a highly relevant role in the region.
