About the Role
Diamond Skin & Laser Clinic is seeking an experienced and professional NMC Registered Nurse with a specialist interest and proven experience in aesthetic medicine.
The successful candidate will be confident delivering a broad range of medical aesthetic, injectable, IV and advanced skin treatments. This is a hands on clinical role requiring excellent consultation skills, strong knowledge of facial anatomy, patient safety and the ability to develop appropriate, individualised treatment plans.
We are looking for someone who combines strong clinical standards with an excellent patient manner and a genuine understanding of the aesthetics industry.
Key ResponsibilitiesInjectable & Medical Aesthetic Treatments
The Aesthetic Nurse will be expected to competently perform treatments within their professional scope of practice and training, including:
- Anti wrinkle treatments, including botulinum toxin where appropriately prescribed and authorised
- Dermal fillers
- Lip enhancement
- Facial contouring and facial balancing
- Skin boosters
- Polynucleotides
- Biostimulators
- PRP treatments for the face and hair
- Exosome treatments
- Microneedling
- Injectable skin rejuvenation treatments
- Hair restoration treatments
- Other advanced injectable treatments following appropriate training and competency assessment
IV Therapy
- Administer IV vitamin and wellness drips
- Perform venepuncture and cannulation
- Complete appropriate pre treatment assessments
- Monitor patients throughout IV therapy
- Recognise and appropriately manage adverse reactions
- Maintain accurate documentation of IV products, batch numbers, dosages and administration
- Follow all medicines management, infection prevention and emergency protocols
Advanced Skin & Facial Treatments
Depending on training and competency, treatments may include:
- Medical grade facials
- HydraFacial
- Chemical peels
- Microneedling
- PRP and regenerative skin treatments
- Acne and acne scarring treatments
- Pigmentation treatments
- Skin rejuvenation
- LED therapy
- Laser and energy based treatments following appropriate manufacturer and clinical training
Consultations & Patient Management
The nurse will:
- Conduct thorough face to face consultations and medical assessments
- Review medical history, medications, contraindications and previous aesthetic treatments
- Assess patient suitability for treatment
- Develop personalised treatment plans
- Explain treatment options, expected outcomes, limitations, risks and aftercare
- Obtain valid informed consent
- Manage patient expectations professionally and ethically
- Complete follow up appointments and clinical reviews
- Identify patients who should not be treated and escalate or refer appropriately
- Recognise and manage complications within their competence and follow the clinic's escalation procedures when medical review is required
Clinical Governance & Safety
The successful candidate must maintain exceptionally high clinical standards and will be responsible for:
- Working in accordance with the NMC Code
- Maintaining a current and unrestricted NMC registration
- Practising strictly within their professional competence and scope of practice
- Maintaining appropriate professional indemnity insurance
- Following clinic policies, SOPs and treatment protocols
- Maintaining accurate, detailed and contemporaneous patient records
- Following infection prevention and control procedures
- Maintaining medicines management standards
- Reporting incidents, adverse events and safeguarding concerns appropriately
- Participating in audits, training, clinical meetings and competency assessments
- Maintaining current Basic Life Support and anaphylaxis training
- Completing ongoing CPD relevant to aesthetic medicine
- Ensuring emergency equipment and medicines are checked in accordance with clinic protocols
Patient Experience & Commercial Responsibilities
This role also requires someone who understands that exceptional clinical care and commercial performance are not mutually exclusive.
You will be expected to:
- Build strong, professional relationships with patients
- Provide an exceptional patient journey from consultation through to aftercare
- Educate patients on appropriate treatment options without using high pressure sales techniques
- Recommend suitable treatment programmes and skincare where clinically appropriate
- Support patient retention and repeat bookings
- Contribute towards clinic treatment and revenue targets
- Maintain high standards of presentation within treatment rooms and clinical areas
- Support clinic events, treatment launches and promotional activities when required
- Assist with appropriate clinical photography and content where valid patient consent has been obtained
Essential Requirements
Candidates must have:
- Current UK NMC registration
- Registered Nurse qualification
- Previous experience within aesthetics, dermatology, cosmetic medicine or a closely related clinical environment
- Formal training and demonstrated competency in aesthetic treatments
- Strong knowledge of facial anatomy
- Experience with injectable treatments
- IV cannulation and venepuncture competency
- Excellent understanding of infection prevention and patient safety
- Excellent consultation and communication skills
- Strong clinical documentation standards
- Professional indemnity insurance appropriate to the treatments performed
- Evidence of relevant CPD and competency based training

All treatments must be performed within the nurse's NMC scope of practice, individual competence, training and clinic protocols.
Where a treatment or prescription requires an authorised prescriber or additional medical oversight, the appropriate prescribing and clinical governance process must be followed before treatment is undertaken.
