Night Care Assistant - 9pm–8am
We’re looking for a kind, dependable and practical person to join our night team. If you genuinely enjoy helping people and can treat our residents with the same patience, dignity and consideration you would expect for someone you care about, we’d like to hear from you.
Your role will include:
- Helping residents with personal care, dressing and other individual needs.
- Supporting residents in a way that maintains their dignity and independence.
- Getting to know each resident and following their individual care plan and preferences.
- Providing reassurance and companionship, particularly to residents who may be unsettled or need additional support during the night.
- Keeping an eye on residents’ general wellbeing and reporting anything unusual or concerning.
- Completing straightforward care records so important information is passed on to the rest of the team.
- Helping with light household duties and keeping residents’ surroundings clean, comfortable and safe.
- Working alongside your colleagues and supporting one another during the shift.
- Helping residents prepare for the morning and ensuring a good handover to the day team.
The Person We’re Looking For
For us, personality and approach are important. We’re looking for someone who is:
- Kind and compassionate – someone who genuinely cares about the people they support.
- Patient and respectful – particularly when supporting residents living with dementia or needing extra reassurance.
- Reliable – our residents and your colleagues need to know they can depend on you.
- Observant – able to notice when something isn't quite right and speak up.
- A good communicator – comfortable speaking with residents, colleagues and families and completing basic written records.
- A team player – willing to help out rather than thinking only about their own particular duties.
- Accurate - Record keeper. Updating careplans and recording information.
Previous care experience is certainly welcome, but it isn't essential for the right person, as support and training can be provided.
A driving licence would be useful but is not essential.
Working Hours
This is a night-shift position, working:
9:00pm – 8:00am
The rota includes alternate weekends between all carers.
Full-time and part-time permanent opportunities are available.
Pay & Benefits
From £13.15 per hour
Please note that applicants must be 18 or over, already living in Northern Ireland and have the right to work in the UK.
