This exciting new position has arisen in Hart’s Kitchen located in Nottingham’s highest-rated hotel on the old ramparts of Nottingham Castle. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen management team in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. This position requires a passion for food, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. - Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient food production and preparation in the absence of kitchen management.
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes while adhering to food safety standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and enhance existing offerings.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage food costs effectively.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
- Foster a positive team atmosphere that encourages creativity and collaboration among kitchen staff.
Experience
- Proven experience in a culinary role, preferably within a 2 rosette restaurant setting.
- Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
- Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations is required.
- Previous hospitality or restaurant experience is highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy kitchen environment.
