The trust is an independent charity that manages five iconic and contemporary venues at the heart of Cheltenham including the Pittville Pump Room and Heritage Cafe, Cheltenham Town Hall and the Garden Bar, The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum, Leisure at Cheltenham, and the Prince of Wales stadium. We deliver a wide range of services and activities including hires and events, festivals and shows, exhibitions, leisure, cafes and in-house catering.
Leisure at Cheltenham is a community-focused leisure centre. We offer a wide range of fitness facilities, swimming pools, sports courts, and recreational areas for our members and guests. As part of the Customer Service team, you will be welcoming members and visitors to our centre and assist them with queries about membership, booking courses and activities.
The role
Reporting to the Sales Manager, the role will involve providing an exceptional welcome to all Leisure customers. Proactively engaging with our customers and supporting the Leisure team with administrative duties, sharing the benefits of sports and leisure in your local community and growing our income and membership sales. Working on a 3 week rolling rota that will including early morning, evening and weekend shifts.
Key role responsibilities:
- Provide great customer service to our customers and member and act as the first point of contact for any customer queries.
- Engage with potential customers, delivering tours of our facilities and up selling gym memberships and activities.
- Collate feedback, comments and suggestions from customers via email, phone and face to face
- Ensure all feedback is passed on to the Sales Manager for review and improvements to our services

Essential experience
· Minimum of 1 year working in a customer service and/or sales role
Skills and abilities
- Personable and friendly with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible and adaptable
- Organised approach to work and your customers
- Strong problem-solving skills to determine the best possible solutions for any customer issues
- Demonstrates professionalism when dealing with complaints or challenging situations
- Some knowledge or an interest in the sports/leisure sector desirable but not essential.
Role Details
- Permanent contract (up to 40 hours per week)
- Salary per annum £26,510.00
- Evening and weekend working
