Job Summary
We are seeking a semi-skilled welder and fabricator to join our manufacturing team. Duties
- Perform TIG welding and mig on various metals, including sheet metal, adhering to specified standards and safety protocols
- Assist in fabricating components by cutting, shaping, and assembling metal parts using hand tools and power tools
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues during fabrication processes
- Handle sheet metal with precision, ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment efficiently and safely
- Support the assembly of fabricated parts into finished products or structures
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations
Experience
- Proven experience with TIG welding is essential, with preference given to candidates familiar with mig and tig welding techniques
- Practical knowledge of fabrication processes involving sheet metal and mechanical assembly
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and basic welding equipment
- Understanding of basic math principles relevant to measurements and calculations in fabrication tasks
- Familiarity with reading technical drawings or blueprints is desirable
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or workshop environment is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided where necessary
