Healthcare Assistant (HCA) – GP Practice
We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, and motivated Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our welcoming GP Practice team at Rea Valley Health Partnership, consisting of three sites, Kings Norton, Ashtree and Keynell Covert on a part-time basis
Hours: 3 days per week (8hrs per day inc half hr unpaid lunch)– Monday, Tuesday and (Thursday or Friday -to be confirmed)
As an integral member of our clinical team, you will work alongside GPs, nurses, and administrative staff to provide high-quality patient care in a busy primary care setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Phlebotomy (essential)
- NHS Health Checks
- Recording observations, including blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, BMI and temperature
- New patient health checks
- ECG recording
- Smoking cessation support (desirable)
- Wound care and simple dressings (if appropriately trained)
- Vaccinations and injections (if appropriately trained and within competency)
- Stock management and equipment checks
- Accurate clinical record keeping using the practice clinical system
- Supporting the nursing team and maintaining high standards of patient care
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Hold a recognised Healthcare Assistant qualification or have equivalent experience.
- Have previous experience working in a GP Practice or primary care setting (preferred).
- Be competent in phlebotomy.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be caring, compassionate and committed to delivering outstanding patient care.
- Be organised, reliable and able to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Have good IT skills and be confident using electronic patient record systems.
