Our client Belmont & Knott Ltd. is recruiting an International Trading Assistant to join their business in the UK.

1. Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive International Trading Assistant to support our day-to-day trading and operational activities.
This is a key position within a team, requiring strong attention to detail, excellent communication and numeracy skills, ability to follow up on deals, communicate with partners and overseas branches, manage stocks and process documents related to trading such as contracts and shipping documents accurately and efficiently.
The successful candidate will play a central role in supporting International Trading.
2. Key Responsibilities
Stock & Data Management
- Maintain and update accurate stock records using Excel.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure all stock data is kept up to date.
- Track stock held at ports and material in transit.
- Liaise with customers to ensure timely delivery and collection of stock.
- Ensure customers are aware of stock availability and delivery requirements.
Documentation & Contracts
- Prepare contracts and ensure adherence to agreed terms.
- Manage and distribute shipping documentation.
- Handle customs-related paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure all trading documentation is correctly filed and recorded.
Customer & Administrative Support
- Answer telephone calls professionally and take accurate messages.
- Respond to customer queries in a timely and knowledgeable manner.
- Support the wider team with administrative and operational tasks.
- Coordinate with logistics providers, ports and global partners.
3. Required Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of the steel or metals industry (preferred)
- Related industry background, work experience (preferred)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to problem-solve independently.
- Quick learner with the ability to take on new tasks confidently.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to work.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a small team environment.
- Experience working within a global or international business environment.

- Visa: Work Visa Holders of a visa that allows them to work legally in the UK
- Annual Salary: Commencing from £32,000 per annum
- Full-time, Permanent
- Working hours: 8 hours/ 5 days (9AM-5PM, Mon-Fri)
- Holiday: 28days
