As a Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) you will support the nurse and vets with in-patient procedures and pet care delivering exceptional care always there to our clients, patients, and colleagues.
We are seeking a compassionate and attentive Veterinary Care Assistant to join our clinical team. You will play a vital role in supporting our vets and nurses, ensuring patients receive exceptional care and our clinic runs smoothly.
You will handle and restrain animals safely for exams and treatments, while feeding, exercising, and grooming hospitalised patients. Daily duties include maintaining strict clinic hygiene by sanitising consultation rooms, kennels, and surgical equipment. You will also assist nurses with surgical prep, instrument sterilisation, and monitoring inpatient vitals. Additionally, you will greet clients, provide compassionate support during emotional visits, and assist reception during busy periods.
Previous animal handling experience in a veterinary or shelter setting is preferred, though full training is provided. You must have strong communication skills, empathy for pets and owners, and high attention to detail. Physical stamina and the ability to stay calm in a fast-paced environment are essential. We are looking for a reliable, adaptable team player.
