North Tyneside Council is seeking a highly organised and analytical Data & Compliance Officer to support the delivery of our Employment & Skills Service, including statutory post-16 participation tracking and supported employment programmes.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring data integrity, compliance and performance monitoring across services that make a real difference to young people and residents. Working closely with managers, schools, colleges, training providers and partner organisations, you will help ensure that our services are informed by accurate data, robust governance and evidence-based decision making.
About the Role
As Data & Compliance Officer, you will lead on data quality assurance, compliance monitoring and performance reporting across a range of programmes. You will ensure information is accurate, timely and compliant with statutory and contractual requirements, supporting both internal improvement and external accountability.
You will:

Maintain high-quality programme and participant data.
- Monitor and validate statutory tracking information for young people.
- Prepare and quality assure returns to organisations such as the DfE, NECA and DWP.
- Produce reports and performance dashboards on key indicators including participation rates, NEET and vulnerable learner outcomes.
- Support audits, inspections and quality reviews.
- Identify data trends, risks and opportunities for service improvement.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, information governance requirements and quality frameworks.
- Work collaboratively with schools, colleges, training providers and internal teams to improve data collection and reporting processes.
- Support continuous improvement activity and contribute to service self-assessment and quality assurance processes.
About You
We are looking for someone who combines excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills and a genuine commitment to high-quality public services.
You will have:

Experience in data management, performance reporting or quality assurance.
- Experience using databases, management information systems or case management systems.
- The ability to analyse complex information and present findings clearly.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements, audit processes and evidence-based working.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- A proactive and solution-focused approach.
Desirable
We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with:

Knowledge of statutory tracking and post-16 participation data.
- Experience of working within education, employment or public sector services.
- Knowledge of the Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF) and the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Fidelity Model.
- Project management qualifications or experience supporting improvement projects
