Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Temp Chef/Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and a deep understanding of food safety standards. As a Temp Chef/ Cook, you will be responsible for meal preparation, food preparation, and ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest quality standards. You will play a vital role in creating an exceptional dining experience for our guests in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Duties
- Prepare and cook high-quality meals according to the restaurant's menu and standards.
- Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items that reflect current food trends.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all food safety regulations are adhered to.
- Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh and properly stored.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal service during busy periods.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques and food safety practices.
- Handle any customer feedback or complaints regarding food quality or service promptly and professionally.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Temp Chef/Cook or in a similar role within a restaurant or culinary environment.
- Strong knowledge of techniques, food preparation, and meal presentation.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for cooking and creating innovative dishes that delight customers.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being capable of independent decision-making.
- Qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
