Finance Manager
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Manager to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for financial control, management reporting, cash flow management, compliance, and process improvement. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting business performance and driving continuous improvement across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Working Capital Management
- Manage daily cash flow and weekly cash requirements.
- Oversee creditor and debtor ledgers, ensuring accuracy and effective management of overdue debt.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations.
Management Accounting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts, including maintaining fully reconciled balance sheets.
- Provide financial analysis and performance reporting to support business decision-making.
Compliance & HMRC Reporting
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements.
- Prepare and reconcile CIS returns.
- Maintain robust financial controls and audit trails.
Leadership & Support
- Lead, support and develop the Accounts Assistant.
- Provide payroll cover during periods of absence.
- Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability and continuous improvement.
About You
- Previous experience as a Finance Manager, Management Accountant or in a similar finance role.
- Experience managing cash flow and working capital.
- Strong knowledge of management accounts, VAT, CIS and financial controls.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working within an SME environment.
Qualifications
- AAT qualified, part-qualified or qualified (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) desirable.
- Candidates with relevant finance experience will also be considered.
