Full-time | 42.5 hours per week
At Fix Auto Basingstoke, we are a friendly, family-owned accident repair centre employing over 60 people. We pride ourselves on delivering right first-time accident repair solutions, combining value, service, speed and quality for our loyal customers.
We are currently looking to recruit a Parts Assistant to support our busy bodyshop operation. This is a key role within the business, ensuring the efficient ordering, control and distribution of vehicle parts to keep repairs on schedule and maintain excellent customer service.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (42.5 hours per week)
- Two housekeeping Saturdays per year
Key Responsibilities
- Order and receipt vehicle parts for the workshop.
- Accurately record all parts orders and receipts for operational and financial purposes.
- Produce clear and accurate parts orders from repair information.
- Ensure all parts are available to meet planned repair and completion dates.
- Chase outstanding parts deliveries on a daily basis.
- Monitor supplier performance and report any issues to the Parts Manager.
- Ensure all supplier deadlines are achieved.
- Correctly invoice all parts to the relevant repair job.
- Process and manage returns to suppliers.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation at all times.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience in a motor trade parts role (bodyshop, dealership or motor factor preferred).
- Good knowledge of vehicle parts and components.
- Experience using parts catalogues or estimating systems (Audatex or similar would be an advantage).
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.
- Basic computer skills for ordering and stock management systems.
