Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable Warehouse Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be self motivated and able to work alone and as part of a team. They will be responsible for efficiently managing materials, operating warehouse equipment, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our facility. The duties will be varied and will require physical ability to handle bagged goods of differnt weights and sizes. Basic computer skills are needed for operating the warehouse managment system and entering details with accuracy and speed. Good communication is essential.
Duties
- Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, ensuring safety and accuracy
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery in accordance with safety protocols - training will be given
- Operate the weighbridge and record details accurately
- Manage inventory using warehouse management systems, maintaining accurate records of stock levels
- Handle materials carefully, ensuring proper storage and organisation within the warehouse
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including preparing items for dispatch and verifying incoming deliveries
- Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting on warehouse equipment as needed
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any maintenance requirements
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
- Support team members in various warehouse and agricultural tasks to meet operational deadlines
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems is advantageous
- Ability to operate forklift trucks safely - training can be given
- Strong materials handling skills, including heavy lifting and organisation
- Basic maths skills for inventory counts and measurements
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures
- Physical fitness to handle heavy loads and stand for extended periods
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced environment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £13.00-£15.50 per hour
