Family Finding Officer
We are looking for an enthusiastic Family Finding Officer for our Head Office based in Dartford, although you will support and work closely with our other offices in the Midlands, North East and North West of England. The successful applicant will report directly to the Family Finding Manager and work with a team of Family Finders. It would be beneficial if the applicant had a genuine interest in Children Social Care and Fostering.
The job description includes the following aspects (these are not exhaustive):-
- Help children and young people find safe, stable and nurturing foster homes;
- Strong commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children;
- Develop effective partnerships and respond promptly to requests for fostering
support;
- Assist in ensuring children are appropriately matched with a foster family;
- Relationship building with Local Authorities, Social Workers, Foster Carers and colleagues
- Partake in regional meetings as the Family Finding Officer;
- Provide cover for your colleagues when they are absent;
- Manage and maintain regional vacancy information and distribute updates regularly;
- Participate in regular Supervision sessions with your Line Manager;
- Ad hoc tasks that arise,
You will be:-
- Highly motivated with excellent communication skills;
- Able to problem-solve effectively in a fast paced environment whilst maintaining a clear head;
- Capable of juggling several ‘live’ emails and referrals at any one time;
- In possession of a sharp eye for identifying key information within a referral;
- Able to learn about our foster carers so you can match them to appropriate referrals;
- Genuinely interested in children social care / fostering
- Confident in dealing with various professionals at all levels or seniority;
- Proficient in MS office; you’ll also manage, organise and update our in-house CRM system;
- Confident in being able to meet tight deadlines;
- Willing and able to work flexibly, including the occasional evening/weekend as required;
- Gifted with a friendly, natural, “can do” attitude

Salary of £26,000 - £30,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.
