Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm (30-minute unpaid lunch break) – 40 hours per weekSalary: £26,500–£28,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Located in the heart of Nottingham city centre, East Midlands Orthodontics is a well established five surgery specialist orthodontic practice providing both NHS and private orthodontic treatment. We are looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Qualified Dental Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team.
The successful candidate will primarily work alongside our Specialist Orthodontist, assisting with NHS orthodontic treatment. Once a month, they will also work alongside our dentist providing private orthodontic care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide chairside support during orthodontic procedures.
- Prepare surgeries before and after patient appointments.
- Carry out decontamination, cleaning and sterilisation of dental instruments in line with HTM 01-05 guidance.
- Maintain high standards of cross-infection control.
- Ensure accurate clinical records are completed.
- Deliver outstanding patient care and help patients feel comfortable throughout their treatment.
- Work closely with the wider clinical and reception team to ensure the smooth running of the practice.
- Provide occasional support to the reception team during busy periods or to assist with holiday and sickness cover.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a recognised dental nursing qualification.
- Be registered with the GDC.
- Have excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Be friendly, professional and compassionate.
- Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Previous orthodontic experience is not essential. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for a qualified dental nurse looking to develop new skills in a specialist orthodontic setting.
