Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrician to join our in-house maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, with experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring and equipment across various settings. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your technical expertise in a dynamic environment, ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards. The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out electrical maintenance, repairs, testing and installations accross a diverse portfolio of properties including healthcare facilities, care homes, restaurants, offices and leisure sites delivering high-quality electrical services while adhering to health and safety regulations.
Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with relevant codes and standards
- Conduct inspections of electrical systems to identify faults or potential hazards
- Use hand tools and power tools to perform precise electrical work efficiently
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement effective solutions promptly
- Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics for installation projects
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and team members to complete projects on time
- Liaise with Project Manager, Site Managers and other members of the maintenance team
- Assist with building maintenance tasks when required
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrician or similar role within the electrical trade
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, wire strippers, etc., as well as power tools including drills and saws
- Strong electrical experience with a thorough understanding of wiring systems, circuit breakers, and control panels
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in electrical installation or maintenance recognised within the industry (NVQ Level 3 Electrical Instalation or equivalent)
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Valid UK driving licence
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- 18th Edition Witing Regulations (BS7671)
- Membership of, or eligibility for, a recognised Competent Person Scheme such as NAPIT, NICEIC or equivalent.
- ECS Gold Card
- Experience within healthcare, commercial or hospitality environments
- Knowledge of emergency lighting and fire alarm systems
- Experience with air conditioning controls, access control systems and building management systems
- Experience with installing and maintaining Solar systems.

Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
