Overview
We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic part time bar staff to join our vibrant team. This role is essential in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests while ensuring smooth operations within the restaurant. As a member of our bar team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, creating a fantastic atmosphere for our guests, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
Our restaurant currently holds 3AA rosettes and we strive to offer a professional yet friendly service to all our guests. Experience in a similar level setting is preferred but general previous bar experience at all levels is required for this role. Cocktail knowledge and basic wine knowledge is preferred also.
Responsibilities
- Serve beverages to spec and at a consistent quality for guests in the bar, garden and restaurant area.
- Take orders accurately and efficiently, demonstrating strong upselling skills to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, ensuring tables are ready for incoming guests and the bar looks inviting and clean.
- Ensure all bar areas are fully set up and prepared for service.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, employing basic maths skills for billing purposes.
- Provide assistance to guests with any enquiries or special requests, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism.
- Support the team in maintaining a high level of hospitality throughout the restaurant and bar.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment on a bar is essential.
- Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during busy periods.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and a commitment to maintaining hygiene standards.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well within a team.
- A passion for bartending and providing outstanding customer service.
- Basic maths skills for handling payments and processing orders accurately.
- A proactive attitude towards helping others and contributing to a positive work environment.
