Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator specialising in Civil Engineering projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analysing project specifications, and collaborating with project teams to ensure bids are competitive and profitable. Duties
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for civil engineering projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and overheads.
- Analyse project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine scope of work.
- Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather pricing and technical information.
- Conduct site visits as necessary to assess project requirements and constraints.
- Monitor project costs throughout the bidding process to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
- Implement effective cost control measures during project execution to maintain budget adherence.
- Assist in the preparation of tender submissions, including detailed breakdowns and supporting documentation.
- Keep abreast of market trends, material prices, and industry developments relevant to civil engineering works.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Estimator within the civil engineering sector.
- Strong understanding of civil construction processes and materials.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability in cost control and budget management.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, and team members.
- Organised approach with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying are preferred.
Pay: £45,000.00-£55,500.00 per year
