Potton Social Care Services is an Independent agency specialising in the care of children, young people and offering respite in the community. Potton social care Services has a team of support workers, carers and health care assistant that are experienced in the child care sector. We provide care and support to children with; learning difficulties, autism, medical and complex needs.
Who we are looking for:
Potton Social Care Services is currently looking for Children’s Support Workers to join our team. For an ongoing case within the havering area. Able to work 8.15am - 6.30pm, Monday to sunday on a rota basis.
Roles, Responsibilities, and Duties
Provide respite care and support to children with disabilities within their family home and in the community.
Deliver compassionate, respectful, and empowering support that promotes the well-being and development of each child.
Assist children in achieving their full potential by engaging in meaningful activities tailored to their abilities and interests.
Read and adhere to each child’s care plan alongside the associated risk assessment to ensure safe and effective care.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs of interactions, support provided, and progress made.
Support families by providing respite services that allow caregivers necessary breaks while ensuring the child's safety and well-being.
Promote independence by assisting children with daily living activities, personal care, and communication as required.
Safeguard and promote the welfare of children, ensuring all actions align with relevant policies and procedures.
Manage and de-escalate potentially challenging situations, fostering a safe and positive environment.
Key Duties
1. Provide one-on-one support to children with disabilities, focusing on their individual needs and development.
2. Ensure full respite hours are fulfilled as agreed in the support plan.
3. Facilitate safe and inclusive activities in the community to encourage social interaction and engagement.
4. Assist children with personal care needs where necessary, maintaining dignity and respect at all times.
5. Monitor and report any concerns regarding the child’s well-being to the appropriate channels.
6. Work sensitively with families, demonstrating empathy and understanding of their unique challenges.
7. Follow health and safety regulations, ensuring safe environments both at home and in the community.
8. Participate in training and development programs to enhance knowledge and skills in disability support.
9. Adhere to safeguarding protocols, escalating concerns when necessary.
10. Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in all interactions.
To be considered for this vacancy you will have to have:
- Experience is required but not essential
- Driving licence/Access to a vehicle is required
What we are offering:
£12.21-£14 per hour Day Rate
Up to £21 per hour Night Rate
£10-£12 per Report
