Carpenter / Joiner
Wilson & Cole Developments is seeking a skilled, reliable, and enthusiastic Carpenter/Joiner to join our growing construction team. The successful candidate will have proven experience in both 1st Fix and 2nd Fix carpentry, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills on site. You will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings, constructing, installing, and repairing structures to the highest standards, ensuring quality workmanship and attention to detail throughout every project.

Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure projects are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Construct, install, repair, and finish a variety of structures and fittings using both hand and power tools.
- Measure, mark, and cut materials with precision to meet project requirements.
- Assemble and install frameworks, fixtures, doors, windows, and other carpentry elements in accordance with industry standards.
- Assist with roofing installations and repairs when required.
- Carry out maintenance and finishing works, including surface preparation, painting, and sealing.
- Collaborate effectively with other trades, including plumbers, electricians, and bricklayers, to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment at all times.
- Contribute positively to the team and uphold the high standards associated with the Wilson & Cole Developments brand.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Carpenter or Joiner within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of both 1st Fix and 2nd Fix carpentry.
- Experience with roofing techniques and materials is desirable.
- Familiarity with painting, finishing, and surface preparation methods.
- Experience working alongside other trades, including plumbers, bricklayers, and electricians.
- Competent in the safe and effective use of hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to undertake bespoke fabrication and custom joinery work.
- Basic knowledge of electrical or plumbing works would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- A recognised qualification in Carpentry, Joinery, or a related trade is preferred, although relevant experience will also be considered.
