SR Drivers are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Drivers on behalf of a long-established transport and logistics client based in Henstridge (BA8).
Whether you’re looking for full-time ongoing work or flexible ad hoc shifts, we have excellent opportunities available across day and night shifts, with immediate starts available.
This is a straightforward depot-to-depot trunking role involving trailer swaps and collections. No handball is required, allowing you to focus on driving.
The Role
As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include:
- Depot-to-depot trunking deliveries and collections
- Trailer drops and trailer swaps
- Returning loaded trailers to the depot
- Completing daily vehicle safety checks and defect reporting
- Completing delivery paperwork accurately
- Ensuring deliveries and collections are completed safely and on time
- Complying with Drivers’ Hours, Working Time Directive and Road Transport legislation
- Maintaining a professional, reliable and customer-focused approach at all times
Shift Patterns
Day Shifts
- Start times between 05:30 – 06:00
- Monday to Friday
- Optional weekend shifts available
- Ongoing work available
- Flexible ad hoc shifts available
- Immediate starts
Night Shifts
- Start times between 17:30 – 18:00
- Monday to Friday
- Optional weekend shifts available
- Ongoing work available
- Flexible ad hoc shifts available

Pay Rates
Day Shifts
- Monday to Friday: £16.50 per hour PAYE or £18.50 per hour including 12.07% accrued holiday pay
- Saturday: £18.00 per hour PAYE or £20.17 per hour including 12.07% accrued holiday pay
- Sunday: £19.50 per hour PAYE or £21.85 per hour including 12.07% accrued holiday pay
Night Shifts
- Monday to Friday: £18.00 per hour PAYE or £20.17 per hour including 12.07% accrued holiday pay
- Saturday: £19.50 per hour PAYE or £21.85 per hour including 12.07% accrued holiday pay
- Sunday: £20.50 per hour PAYE or £22.97 per hour including 12.07% accrued holiday pay
What We’re Looking For
To be considered, you will need:
- Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Minimum 12 months’ HGV Class 1 driving experience preferred
- Good understanding of Drivers’ Hours and Tachograph Regulations
- A reliable, professional and safety-focused attitude
