Job Title: Warehouse Operative – Day Shift

Employment Type: Full Time 40 Hour Working Week
Shift: 07:00 to 16:00
Salary: £26,500 rising to £27,500 after probation per annum, plus an attendance bonus of £140 per month.
Are you a confident warehouse operative who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume logistics environment? P W Gates Distribution Ltd are looking for experienced warehouse operatives to join our A1 Connect Site at our – Welwyn Garden City Depot.
Role Overview
As a Warehouse Operative, you’ll be part of a highly active team, dealing with Ocado parcel service. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that requires precision, teamwork, and a strong awareness of safety at all times. Your ability to stay focused and organised during busy periods will directly contribute to the smooth and efficient running of our operation.
Key Responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to:
· Recording PO numbers on a spreadsheet
· Sorting Ocado parcels for various CFC’s
· Jobs created on Vigo
· Labelling pallets
· Emails sent for non-conformant pallets to Ocado
· Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised work area, promoting good housekeeping and efficient operations.
· Support with additional warehouse tasks as required, adapting to changing operational needs.
Essential Criteria
· Strong awareness of Health & Safety procedures, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
· High level of attention to detail and ability to work accurately while handling freight.
· Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with a positive and proactive attitude.
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills, able to work effectively with colleagues and drivers.
· Willingness to support operational requirements.
Desirable Criteria
It would be an advantage if candidates also have:
· Previous experience working in a high-volume warehouse, transport, or distribution hub with cross-docking operations.
· Qualifications such as PPT.
· Familiarity with handheld scanners used within warehouse or logistics environments.
