We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activity Coordinator to lead engaging and meaningful activities for our senior residents. In this vital role, you will design, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational, social, and therapeutic programs that promote wellness, independence, and joy. Duties
- Develop and implement a diverse calendar of activities tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
- Lead group activities such as arts and crafts, music sessions, exercise classes, games, and social events to encourage participation and socialization
- Assess residents’ individual preferences and abilities to personalize activity plans that enhance their physical, mental, and emotional well-being
- Collaborate with care staff to integrate therapeutic activities that support cognitive function and emotional health
- Monitor resident engagement during activities, providing encouragement and support to ensure positive experiences
- Maintain accurate records of participation, resident feedback, and activity outcomes for reporting purposes
- Stay informed about best practices in senior care, dementia care, and assisted living environments to continually improve program quality
Skills
- Proven experience working in assisted living or nursing home settings with seniors
- Strong understanding of senior care principles, including dementia care and Alzheimer’s care techniques
- Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Creativity in designing engaging activities that cater to diverse interests and abilities
- Ability to assess individual needs and adapt activities accordingly
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine passion for enhancing the lives of older adults
- Organizational skills to plan schedules, manage resources, and document program participation effectively
Pay: From £12.75 per hour
