We are currently recruiting for a confident, reliable and enthusiastic Unqualified Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in High Wycombe, with an immediate start available.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their experience working with primary-aged children. The role would suit individuals with experience in education, childcare, youth work, sports coaching, support work or similar settings.
QTS is not required for this role, making it an excellent opportunity for graduates, Teaching Assistants, Sports Coaches or those looking to take their first steps into a career in education.
As an Unqualified Cover Supervisor, you will:

Supervise classes in the absence of the regular class teacher.

Support pupils while they complete pre-prepared work and activities.
-
Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the class teacher.
-
Ensure pupils remain focused, engaged and on task.
-
Maintain a calm, positive and supportive classroom environment.
-
Manage classroom behaviour confidently and consistently.
-
Provide guidance and support to pupils where appropriate.
-
Build positive and professional relationships with pupils.
-
Encourage positive behaviour and high expectations.
-
Support pupils with their learning and development.
-
Work closely with teachers, Teaching Assistants and other school staff.

Provide feedback to the class teacher regarding pupil engagement, behaviour and completed work.

Support the wider school community when required.

Ensure the safety, safeguarding and wellbeing of all pupils.
To be successful in this role, you will have:

Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
-
Previous experience in a primary school or educational setting is beneficial but not essential.

QTS or a formal teaching qualification is not required.

A genuine interest in working with primary-aged children.
-
A confident, calm and patient approach.
-
Good classroom and behaviour management skills.

The ability to follow lesson plans and instructions effectively.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to build positive relationships with pupils.

Confidence supervising a class independently.

The ability to maintain a positive and engaging learning environment.

A flexible and adaptable approach.

The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

The ability to commute to or work within the High Wycombe area.
