Registered Children’s Home Manager – Liverpool Area
Theophelian Ltd is seeking an experienced, committed and child-focused Registered Manager to lead one of our established children’s residential homes in the Liverpool area.
The home provides residential care for children and young people aged 7–18 and has recently achieved an Ofsted rating of Good in all areas. We are looking for the right person to lead the service, maintain the standards already achieved and continue its development.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced residential childcare professional to join a growing organisation where you will have the support of the Responsible Individual, Directors and wider management team.
We are particularly interested in applicants who have previously been registered with Ofsted or who have significant management experience within children’s residential care.
The Role
As Registered Manager, you will have responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home and for ensuring that children receive consistently high-quality, safe and nurturing care.
You will provide strong leadership to the staff team and create a positive culture focused on achieving excellent outcomes for the children living at the home.
Key responsibilities will include ensuring the home operates in accordance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, the Quality Standards and Ofsted requirements; leading and developing the staff team through effective supervision, support and performance management; overseeing safeguarding practice; maintaining effective care planning and risk management; ensuring regulatory documentation and records are completed to a high standard; and developing positive working relationships with social workers, families, education providers and other professionals.
You will work closely with the Responsible Individual and Directors to continually evaluate and improve the quality of care provided.
About You
We are looking for someone with substantial experience within children’s residential care and a strong understanding of the responsibilities associated with managing an Ofsted-registered children’s home.
You should have excellent knowledge of safeguarding, the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, the Quality Standards and Ofsted expectations.
You will need strong leadership skills and the ability to develop, motivate and support a residential childcare team while maintaining high professional standards.
Previous experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager is highly desirable, particularly where you can demonstrate a positive regulatory history.
Applicants should hold the appropriate Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or an appropriate equivalent, or be in a position to achieve the required qualification within the applicable regulatory timescale.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who genuinely understands residential childcare and is passionate about creating a stable, nurturing home where children feel safe, valued and supported to achieve positive outcomes.
Why Join Theophelian Ltd?
You will be joining an established service that has already achieved Good in all areas from Ofsted, providing a strong foundation on which the successful manager can build.
Theophelian Ltd is a growing children’s residential care provider, creating opportunities for experienced managers who want to develop alongside the organisation.
For the right candidate, there is potential to take responsibility for two homes through dual registration, subject to Ofsted approval. However, dual registration is preferable rather than essential.
We are looking for someone who wants to take ownership of the service, develop an excellent staff team and help us build upon the standards already achieved.
If you are an experienced children’s residential care professional looking for your next Registered Manager opportunity, we would be delighted to hear from you.
