Job Description:
As the SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive SHEQ projects that align with our company’s goals and regulatory requirements. Your role is crucial in ensuring a safe and compliant workplace, promoting a culture of safety, and minimising our environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement effective SHEQ policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with local, national, and international regulations.
- Identify potential hazards, assess risks, and develop strategies to mitigate risks across all operations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental laws, regulations, and standards.
- Regularly update policies to reflect changes in legislation.
- Conduct regular SHEQ training sessions for employees at all levels, fostering a culture of safety and environmental awareness.
- Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses. Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Oversee initiatives aimed at reducing the company’s environmental footprint, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and sustainable practices.
- Maintain accurate records of SHEQ activities, incidents, and performance metrics. Prepare and present regular reports to senior management.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and innovations. Continuously improve SHEQ programs and policies to enhance workplace safety and environmental sustainability.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in SHEQ management, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
- NEBOSH qualified.
- Experience in permits to work and safe work practices (SWP).
- ISO audit experience.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others.
- Proven track record in successfully managing SHEQ programs and driving cultural change.
- Proficiency in risk assessment, incident investigation, and SHEQ auditing.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
