Experienced Grill Chef – New East London OpeningAward-Winning Independent Restaurant Group
We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Grill Chef to join the team for an exciting new kitchen opening in East London.
This is a rare opportunity to join an award-winning independent food business as we launch a brand-new open kitchen in partnership with one of East London's most respected venues.
Working closely with the owner and Head Chef, you'll take ownership of the grill section, helping deliver exceptional burgers, fried chicken and modern comfort food in a fast-paced, quality-driven kitchen.
This isn't a management role, but it does require someone who can confidently run their section, stay calm under pressure, and take ownership of the pass and kitchen on quieter shifts when required.

What We're Looking ForEssential
- At least 2 years' experience as a Grill Chef, Senior Chef de Partie or Sous Chef in a busy, quality-led kitchen.
- Strong experience cooking burgers on a grill is essential.
- Confident working in high-volume services.
- Able to run your section independently with excellent organisation.
- Comfortable running the pass and coordinating service when required.
- Excellent understanding of seasoning, consistency and quality control.
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene, HACCP and kitchen compliance.
- Great communication skills and the ability to work closely with front of house.
Desirable
- Experience with Korean or Asian flavours.
- Experience working in an open kitchen.
- Passion for modern burger culture and quality casual dining.
The Role
You'll be responsible for running the grill section and helping ensure every service is smooth, consistent and executed to a high standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Owning the grill section throughout service.
- Cooking burgers, fried chicken and sides to precise specifications.
- Maintaining consistency in flavour, presentation and quality.
- Running the pass and coordinating service on quieter shifts when required.
- Supporting and guiding junior chefs during service.
- Managing ticket flow and maintaining pace during busy periods.
- Ensuring prep is completed to a high standard.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient kitchen.
- Ensuring all food is labelled, rotated and stored correctly.
- Following all food safety and HACCP procedures.
- Working alongside the owner and Head Chef on new dishes, specials and menu development.
