About Us
At Bakesmiths, we're passionate about serving exceptional coffee alongside freshly baked breads and pastries made from scratch. We're looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Baker to join our team and help create high-quality products that our customers will love.
The Role
As our Baker, you'll be responsible for producing a range of artisan breads, croissants, viennoiserie, and other sweet and savoury pastries. You'll take pride in consistency, quality, and presentation while maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient bakery.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, mix, shape, proof, and bake a variety of artisan breads.
- Produce laminated pastries, including croissants and pain au chocolat.
- Create a selection of cakes, pastries, and seasonal baked goods.
- Ensure all products meet our quality and presentation standards.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ingredient ordering.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety.
- Work efficiently to meet daily production schedules.
- Contribute new ideas for seasonal specials and menu development.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience as a professional baker or pastry baker.
- Strong knowledge of bread making, fermentation, and dough handling.
- Experience producing laminated doughs and viennoiserie.
- General pastry skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and manage early morning starts.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- A passion for producing outstanding baked goods.
Desirable
- Experience in an artisan bakery or speciality coffee shop.
- Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- Creativity and enthusiasm for developing new bakery products.
