The Role
As a Warehouse / Yard Operative, you will support the efficient day-to-day running of our warehouse and yard operations. You will be responsible for the safe handling, movement and storage of yarn and other materials, maintaining accurate stock records, and assisting with goods in and goods out activities.
Working closely with production, logistics and management teams, you will help ensure the warehouse and yard remain organised, safe and efficient at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate stock levels of yarn, raw materials and finished goods.
- Carry out stock checks and assist with stock counts.
- Load and unload wagons and delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Check incoming and outgoing goods against delivery paperwork.
- Complete stock movement documentation accurately.
- Move materials throughout the warehouse and yard safely.
- Prepare materials for production, storage and dispatch.
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment where trained and authorised.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation.
- Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures.
What We're Looking For
✔ Experience working in a warehouse, stores or yard environment.
✔ Good attention to detail and accuracy.
✔ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
✔ Understanding of safe manual handling practices.
✔ Forklift Truck Licence
✔ Experience within a manufacturing environment.
✔ Knowledge of stock control processes.
