Artist Residence Penzance is a relaxed, characterful boutique hotel, bar and restaurant on Chapel Street. At the heart of the house is The Cornish Barn Lounge, Bar & Restaurant — a warm, social space for guests and locals.
We’re looking for a Bar Manager or Head Bartender who is great with cocktails, naturally welcoming, and happy taking responsibility for the house on quieter shifts.
This is a hands-on, evening-focused role for someone who loves drinks, hosting, and setting the tone of a room.
The Role
- Leading the bar during evening service
- Crafting excellent cocktails and drinks
- Creating a warm, fun and welcoming atmosphere in the lounge
- Serving tables in the lounge on quieter evenings
- Welcoming hotel guests and helping with check-ins
- Acting as House Manager / Duty Manager on selected shifts
- Supporting and guiding the bar team
- Managing bar stock, ordering and standards
You’ll be a great fit if you:
- Are an experienced bartender or bar supervisor with strong cocktail skills
- Are passionate and knowledgeable about drinks (without being showy)
- Love hosting and making people feel genuinely welcome
- Are comfortable being the senior person on shift
- Stay calm, friendly and positive — even when busy

Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
